Shortage of sub-specialists threatens pediatric care

A shortage of pediatric sub-specialties is threatening timely access to care for sick children, according to medical experts. Pediatric medical groups are lobbying Congress for more funding for training and higher reimbursement to encourage physicians to enter pediatric sub-specialties, such as gastroenterology, developmental medicine and neurology.
