Spas find charitable giving boosts business

Donating services and products to charity is a growing trend in the beauty industry, according to a study. About 85% of salons and spas donate to groups such as cancer charities or homeless shelters, the International Spa Association and PricewaterhouseCoopers found. And the practice in many cases helps businesses more than does traditional advertising, owners said.
