Premier backs inclusion of device ID system in health reform bill

Premier health care alliance has expressed its support for a House bill containing a provision that would push for the development of a unique device identification system for medical devices. "UDI is the missing link to protect the safety of patients by improving processes for device recalls and corrections," Premier said in a letter to lawmakers working on the final version of the health reform bill.
