Breast imaging market to be worth $5B in 4 years, report says

The market for breast imaging technologies may be valued at around $5 billion by 2017, according to a report from MarketsandMarkets. The report included ionizing imaging modalities, including PEM, MBI, PET and BSGI, as well as nonionizing modalities, such as MRI and optical imaging. MBI is slowly being considered as a supplemental method for patients with dense breast tissue, the report said.
