DISH eyes more mini packages but will keep bundles

DISH Network wants to introduce more mini packages of thematically similar channels, much like its current sports packs and Heartland Package, Senior Vice President of Programming David Shull said last week. He added that the move was not a sign the provider was moving to an a la carte menu of programming, but rather was a solution for offering subscribers lesser-viewed channels in a more cost-effective way. "We think that's the answer to the bundling conundrum the industry is facing," he said.
