Study shows link between overweight owners, dogs

Overweight owners tend to have overweight dogs, but the same relationship does not hold for pet owners and their cats, according to a study conducted by Dutch researchers using a sample of 47 dog-owner pairs and 36 cat-owner pairs. The researchers noted that the discrepancy could be linked to whether owners walk their dogs. Additional studies on pet obesity can be found at the AVMA Web site.
