AMA urges CMS, ONC to hire external evaluator for EHR incentives

The American Medical Association has called on CMS and the ONC to employ an outside expert to evaluate the EHR incentive program. Hiring an external evaluator may help determine attainable measures, EHR functionalities that can be developed in a given period and reasonable meaningful use requirements, an AMA official said.
