Analysis: Pentagon changes strategy for addressing sequestration

The Pentagon has changed its approach to the threat of sequestration since Congress set a new sequestration deadline for March, analysts say. Instead of delaying action like it did before the Jan. 2 sequestration deadline, the Pentagon has started taking steps to meet across-the-board spending cuts. "Much of the public debate about the defense sequester before January had just been lots of talk and hyperbole, and not a lot of real concrete specific things that could happen," said defense-budget analyst Todd Harrison.
