PC-maker Dell reportedly is talking to investors and private-equity firms about a possible buyout, although industry watchers say there's no specific offer or deal on the table. "It would make sense for them to go private, fix the company behind the scenes and then come out as a smaller, faster-growing, more profitable [company] when the turnaround is complete," says Brian Marshall, an analyst at ISI Group.
