Kan. ethanol plant to reopen in spring under new ownership

An ethanol plant in Pratt, Kan., that has been closed since 2008 will resume production late this spring, according to an official from Scoular, which acquired the facility and an adjacent grain elevator and railroad tracks in 2011. Scoular announced Monday that it has sold most of its stake in the facility to Pratt Biofuel Investors. Scoular retains a minority stake in the plant and full ownership of the railroad tracks and grain elevator.
