New DNA test reveals physical attributes of the deceased

Using teeth or bones, scientists have created a DNA test that can unveil physical details about the deceased, including eye and hair colors. The test, HIrisPlex, has been used to give partial identities to a number of unknown bodies, including people killed by the Germans during World War II, and a woman discovered in a medieval crypt. Researchers described the technique in the journal Investigative Genetics.
