State governors said to grapple with education-funding issues

In his "State of the States" address on behalf of the National Governors Association last week, Delaware Gov. Jack Markell addressed the current fiscal climate, which makes budgeting at the state level a challenge, he said. Also included in his remarks was a call for states to better align education with the needs of the workforce and the potential effects of federal budget cuts on states.
