U.S. chemical output to rise 1.9% this year, ACC projects

Growth in the U.S. and European chemical sectors should remain sluggish in 2013 while improving upon 2012, according to projections by the American Chemistry Council and the European Chemical Industry Council. Production of basic chemicals in the U.S. should be spurred by shale natural gas feedstock, while the automotive and housing industries will require specialty chemicals, according to ACC.
