CHIME cautions against setting unrealistic stage 3 MU goals

CHIME has asked the Health IT Policy Committee to perform a thorough review of what has been achieved thus far under the meaningful use program to avoid setting unrealistic measures and goals for hospitals in stage 3 of the initiative. In its comment letter to the stage 3 MU proposal, CHIME urged that stage 3 time frames should be "linked to and preceded by proven HIE capabilities," among other recommendations.
