NRF: Holiday retail sales rose 3%

Retail sales for November and December rose 3%, NRF reported at Retail's BIG Show on Tuesday, missing the 4.1% forecast as shoppers slowed their spending amid concerns about taxes and job security. "Heading into 2013, consumers could continue to think twice about their discretionary purchases as they face decreases in their paychecks and other concerns with their household budgets," said chief economist Jack Kleinhenz.
