Plan for used-fuel storage draws mixed reaction in Congress

The federal government's proposal for storage of used nuclear fuel was met with mixed reviews from members of Congress. While some senators support the new storage plan, leaders of the House Energy and Commerce committees largely oppose it, saying it would waste the work and money invested in the Yucca Mountain repository site, which is still the most studied option.
