Shale sets up La. for $62.3 billion in planned manufacturing projects

Companies are planning a combined $62.3 billion in manufacturing-related investments in Louisiana in the next few years, and nearly a third of that money would directly affect the state economy, according to projections from Louisiana State University's Center for Energy Studies. Of that planned investment, $14.8 billion is for polymer facilities or ethane crackers.
