API promotes Keystone XL's benefits to South Carolina voters

American Petroleum Institute President and CEO Jack Gerard made the case for the approval of TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline during the group's trip to South Carolina as part of its "Vote 4 Energy" campaign. "If we build the Keystone XL pipeline, if we utilize our domestic oil resources and if we keep advancing biofuel development, children born in South Carolina today could be driving cars fueled entirely by North American energy when they're old enough to get their driver's license," said Gerard. He also criticized the Obama administration's energy policies, particularly the decision to exclude offshore sites from drilling.
