9 medtech companies vow to make devices interoperable

Nine companies, including Masimo, GE Healthcare Systems and Zoll Medical, have vowed to make their medical technologies interoperable and enable patients to access information stored in their devices. The interoperability pledge is intended to help the U.S. health system eliminate avoidable deaths by 2020.
