Psychology professor: How to set students on path for success

Avoid the trappings of New Year's resolutions that are unsuccessful by helping students make plans for short-term successes, writes Maurice Elias, a psychology professor at Rutgers University. In this blog post, Elias suggests asking students to write two learning goals they wish to accomplish during the next three weeks and share their goals with a classmate. Their peers, Elias writes, can help students establish plans for success and keep them on track.
