Educator: Haiti should be included in classroom lessons

Teachers can help students understand the devastation in Haiti, in part by educating them on what Haiti was like before the Jan. 12 earthquake, an educator writes in this blog post. She encourages teachers to play Haitian music in class and teach students about the country's culture and history. The tragedy also can be an opportunity for teachers to show students what they can do to help others, she writes.
