Rapid response team reduces ICU admissions, mortality

Vancouver General Hospital's rapid response team reduced mortality rates for critically ill patients by 31% and lengths of stay by 19% in its first year. The Critical Care Outreach Team's goal is to keep patients out of the ICU, and first-year data showed it reduced unit admissions by 14%.
