Addiction specialist takes aim at bulimia myths

There are many myths and misunderstandings about the eating disorder bulimia -- including that it is always associated with vomiting or only occurs in women -- that need to be debunked to promote healing and recovery, certified addiction specialist Tennie McCarty writes. She writes that dieting does not cause bulimia, children do not simply grow out of it and the condition can be fatal.
