Certified rope-access engineers inspect Hoover Dam's bypass bridge

Due to the complexity of the Mike O'Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge spanning the Colorado River downstream from the Hoover Dam, the Nevada Department of Transportation has tapped Stantec's team of "certified rope-access engineers" to fully check the bridge. The team has combined engineering and climbing skills. "My favorite part of this is there is a very small group of people in the world who are ever going to be able to rappel off this structure," said Nicholas Cioffredi, a senior bridge inspection engineer.
