GOP retreats to regroup

More than 6 out of 10 Americans think the Republican Party is "growing extreme and out of touch," according to a survey released by Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg on the eve of the annual GOP retreat. The party will use the two-day event to discuss how to overcome several recent setbacks it has faced, including the passing of tax increases and the Sandy relief bill by House Democrats. "Right now, we are caught in a vicious cycle of just reacting to events that happen in two-week increments. Instead, we have to look at our challenge of rebuilding in a much more comprehensive fashion," Republican strategist Kevin Madden said.
