Ind. group awaits completion of Fla. waste-to-ethanol project

SMC, a consortium of construction companies in Lake County, Ind., won't move forward on a plan to take over a delayed waste-to-ethanol project unless it sees the results from INEOS Bio's commercial-scale waste-to-fuel project in Vero Beach, Fla., said spokesman Ed Cleveland. "For us to exercise our option, we need to see the Vero Beach plant up and running," Cleveland said. Officials from INEOS Bio and Vero Beach told SMC the project is expected to become fully operational by the end of March.
