Japanese researchers explore SRS cleanup technology

Several Japanese researchers toured the Savannah River Site in South Carolina this week to study remediation technologies that could help stabilization efforts at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in Japan. "Fukushima has specific needs," said Masumi Ishikawa, Tokyo Electric Power's general manager for radioactive fuel management. "We are trying to see what technologies here can be applied to the needs of Fukushima," Ishikawa said.
