Mass. commission denies requests for casino applications extension

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has voted to refuse requests for an extension on the submission of casino applications from Chicopee Mayor Michael D. Bissonnette and two developers. The panel said allowing the extensions could delay the process of awarding licenses. "If there were legitimate proposals that could be fixed easily, then we would consider it. But we're not going to slow the process down for no good reason," commission Chairman Stephen Crosby said.
