Neb. stands to benefit from Keystone XL project, report finds

TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline would generate more than 5,000 jobs in Nebraska annually during its construction, according to a report commissioned by the Consumer Energy Alliance. The project is also expected to create about $580.2 million in direct spending during construction and another $570.5 million during operation, the report found. "Approving the pipeline is a no-brainer," said Cindy Schild, the American Petroleum Institute's refining senior manager.
