U.S. halts transfer of some Afghan detainees

The U.S. has stopped transferring detainees to some Afghan prison facilities and has asked that the Afghan government investigate allegations of human rights abuses by local police forces, the International Security Assistance Force said Wednesday. A U.N. report to be released as soon as next week is expected to reveal incidents involving torture and abuse by Afghan forces.
