Study: 10 gene variants raise risk of Type 2 diabetes

U.S. scientists said they found 10 genetic mutations linked to insulin concentrations that appear to be linked to Type 2 diabetes. "Finding these new pathways can help us better understand how glucose is regulated, distinguish between normal and pathological glucose variations and develop potential new therapies for Type 2 diabetes," said one of the study's lead authors.
