Laundry-detergent manufacturers including Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Henkel and Church & Dwight are set to launch lines of highly concentrated detergent tablets, with a marketing battle expected to result. In regulation, reform of the Toxic Substances Control Act and chemical safety remain key issues. "From a cleaning-products standpoint, we have a good handle on the ingredients in our products. Our industry has done a good job of screening chemicals and making sure that they have a strong safety profile," said Paul DeLeo of the American Cleaning Institute.
