Minn. school district implements NuVal ratings

Secondary-school students in the Sartell-St. Stephen School District in Minnesota are getting NuVal food guidelines in cafeterias and vending machines. The district will begin by rating about 40% of items. Food-service director Brenda Braulick says the goal is to help students "make a decision whether, for their money, to trade up to something that has a higher-value nutrition."
