Commissioners: FCC should take action on diversity measures

The Federal Communications Commission can do more to promote diversity, FCC Commissioners Mignon Clyburn and Ajit Pai said in remarks at the Minority Media & Telecommunications Council's Broadband and Social Justice Policy Summit. Clyburn cited the agency's requests for comments on a small-business credit for broadcasters taking part in the incentive auction as a potential sign of progress. Pai said limits capping foreign ownership of broadcast stations at 25% didn't make sense, as minority broadcasters need capital and wireless companies are not subject to the same restrictions.
