Tanning beds exceed recommended UV levels, British study finds

Indoor tanning beds double the risk of skin cancer compared with spending the same amount of time under the Mediterranean sun during the summer, a study found. UV levels exceeded U.K. and European Union guidelines for about 90% of 400 tanning beds tested by researchers in the U.K. The study appeared in the British Journal of Dermatology.
