Locomotive Reliability Centre in Toronto open as a "super shop"

Canadian Pacific's newest locomotive super repair shop opened in Toronto. The facility is open 24/7 and provides a variety of services, including engine and turbo change-outs. The opening is the end of the second phase of a project that will reduce CP's eight repair facilities into four super shops. "Additional benefits include reduced transit times to shops, quicker shop turn times and better quality repairs that drive a more consistent product to CP's customers at a lower cost to the railroad," said CP Executive Vice President of Operations Mike Franczak.
