University Hospital in Texas starts cord blood collection

The Texas Cord Blood Bank has partnered with University Health System in San Antonio for umbilical cord blood collection at University Hospital. The hospital, which started collections Tuesday, becomes the 13th hospital in the state to be part of the cord blood program. Blood taken from the umbilical cords will become part of a public supply that will be accessible to doctors.
