Google: Passwords are passé

The era of user passwords for computers or websites may be coming to an end, as Google is developing technology that would embed passwords in a physical device. "Along with many in the industry, we feel passwords and simple bearer tokens such as cookies are no longer sufficient to keep users safe," Google's Eric Grosse and Mayank Upadhyay wrote in a white paper. They add, "It's time to give up on elaborate password rules and look for something better."
