Guidelines offered to assess eating disorders

New diagnostic criteria for anorexia, bulimia and other eating disorders are designed to help primary care providers better identify the conditions in patients. An author of the new guidelines notes that fatigue, dizziness, low energy, amenorrhea, weight loss or gain, GI disorders, heartburn, sore throat and vital-sign disturbances are among the symptoms to watch.
