CenturyLink, Frontier push back on cold-call rules in Idaho

CenturyLink and Frontier Communications are lobbying the Idaho legislature to drop or revise a 2000 law that forbids phone companies from making solicitation calls to businesses and consumers. "It's especially important where we're making high-speed Internet available in new markets, and we're limited in not being able to inform customers by phone," Frontier spokesman Jack Phillips said. Idaho has about 1 million phone numbers on its "do not call" list.
