Intervention helps reduce infant deaths, stillbirths in Tanzania

The use of a program called Helping Babies Breathe was associated with a decline in the number of newborn deaths and stillbirths in Tanzania, researchers reported in the journal Pediatrics. A second study in Southern India showed that the program yielded no change in neonatal mortality rates, but was linked to a drop in stillbirth rates.
