TV nets are among the most important buyers at Sundance

Buyers such as Participant Media, CNN Films and The Sundance Channel have joined HBO and Showtime in creating an increasing emphasis on television buying at the Sundance Film Festival, once considered a preserve of theatrical distributors. Showtime has nabbed the rights to the "History of the Eagles" documentary, AMC-owned Sundance Selects signed rights to "The Summit" and HBO Documentary Films bought "Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer" in early deals.
