Layoffs target young, not experienced

Thousands of workers are being laid off across the country, but in a new trend, many businesses are trying to save the jobs of older workers to make sure experienced people are on hand when the economy turns around and avoiding voluntary buyouts. Government reports indicate the jobs of younger workers have been sacrificed more frequently in the most recent round of cutbacks.
