Disclosure of fracking data is increasing as states phase in rules

The amount of data on hydraulic fracturing chemicals reported by natural gas drillers is increasing as states implement regulations that require such reporting. Drillers, meanwhile, are looking to further promote their disclosure activities to alleviate public doubt about the safety of fracking chemicals. "The truth is, it's not a witch's brew by any stretch of the imagination. But that doesn't mean that people are going to be assured just because you said it wasn't," said James Hackett, chairman and CEO of Anadarko Petroleum.
