Education-funding formulas come under fire in court

States and local school districts grapple not only with limited budgets but also lawsuits related to how schools are funded. At issue in many cases is the disparity that occurs between schools in wealthier parts of the district and those that serve primarily low-income schools. Some states, including Kansas, have been found in violation of their state's constitution after making significant cuts to K-12 funding.
