Report: Colo. oil production is highest in 50 years

Production from Colorado's oil fields totaled over 40 million barrels in 2012, which is the largest figure since 1962, according to a review of data from the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Last year's output is "a reflection of how vast technological change has led to resource production in Colorado [that was] once unfathomable," said Matt Lepore, the commission's director.
