Shaped implants get good reviews from surgeons

Recently approved implants by Sientra, colloquially known as "gummy bear" implants, are made with a strong, cohesive gel, extending durability and giving them a natural shape, plastic surgeons say. Dr. Malcolm Roth, past president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, says he likes that the implant form is stable and resists ruptures. "Even if you cut this implant, it's still going to maintain its shape," said plastic surgeon Kaveh Alizadeh.
