Study: Foot ulcer recurrence caused by poor adherence

Patients who were prescribed custom footwear often did not wear it at home, increasing the danger of foot ulcer recurrence, a study of 107 patients with diabetes, neuropathy and a recently healed plantar foot ulcer found. Adherence away from home was significantly higher than adherence at home, though more steps were taken at home, researchers reported in Diabetes Care.
