Study: Poor adherence leads to foot ulcer recurrence

Patients who were prescribed custom footwear often did not wear it at home, leading to foot ulcer recurrence, a study of 107 patients with diabetes, neuropathy and a recently healed plantar foot ulcer found. Adherence away from home was significantly higher than adherence at home, though more steps were taken at home, the researchers reported in the journal Diabetes Care.
