Ga. district considers Farm-to-School initiative

A Georgia school district is in the process of updating its wellness policy -- a requirement for districts that participate in the federal school meal program. One idea supported by some in DeKalb County is to include Farm-to-School (F2S) initiatives in the revised policy. Among the other ideas discussed at a recent meeting were to allow food grown in a school garden to be served, and to teach students where food comes from.
